Lucknow: Bharat Punarnirman Dal (BPD) organized 61st Independence Day celebrations on August 15, 2008 at the U.P. State office in Lucknow. The programme started with Flag-hoisting by Lucknow unit Acting President Dr. Sunil Kumar, followed by a small cultural program, in which party members sang patriotic songs and poetries. Immediately after the cultural progam, a Prabhat-Pheri procession was organized covering the area of Vishwaskhand in Gomati Nagar, Lucknow. BPD U.P. State General Secretary Ravishankar Bharat, State Advisor Gyan Asthana, District General Secretary Marut Bharat, Faizabad Incharge Manish Singh, together with twenty-five other party members also graced the occasion.
Kanpur: BPD celebrated 61st Independence Day on 15 August 2008 at Medical College Goal Chauraha in Kanpur. On this occasion, Flag-hosting was done by the party member Mr Rajiv Gupta. Sweets and Fruits were also distributed. Despite heavy-rains, a Nagar-march followed the flag hosting ceremony, which passed through various parts of the city to instill the spirit of nationalism and patriotic feeling amongst the public.
